Thai Man Found Drowned In Sungai Golok

Rantau panjang: A 23-year-old Thai man was found drowned in Sungai Golok along the Malaysia-Thailand border near Kampung Pengkalan Pasir and Abe Yie in Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas this evening.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rantau Panjang Fire and Rescue Station chief Hamzah Musa stated that the victim, Faiz Hasan, was discovered by Thai authorities at 7.10 pm during a search and rescue operation. The operation was initiated after receiving a call from the General Operations Force (GOF) at 6.27 am the previous day regarding a person who had jumped into the river and did not resurface.

The search and rescue effort began along the riverbank at 7 am and continued today. It involved eight personnel from the Rantau Panjang Fire and Rescue Station, with assistance from several agencies, including the police and a diving unit from Thailand.

Hamzah confirmed that the victim's body was retrieved by Thai authorities for further action. The search and rescue operation was officially concluded at 7.15 pm.
