Penang: Penang FC finally ended their wait for their first Super League win of the season after edging Kelantan Red Warriors FC (KRW) 3-2 in a dramatic encounter at City Stadium here this afternoon. Captain Stefano Brundo's injury-time goal secured all three points for the Panthers, sparking cheers from the home supporters who remained loyal until the final whistle despite the rainy weather.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, playing at home, the Panthers opened the scoring as early as the fourth minute through Gayoso Javier Augustine. The goal came after Bakhtiyor Muzaffar Ugli Kosimov's shot was not held cleanly by KRW goalkeeper Amin Faisal Mohd Saidi, allowing Gayoso to intercept the ball and finish it to put the hosts ahead.

Penang FC were forced to make a goalkeeper change in the 19th minute when Mohd Khairulazhan Mohd Khalid sustained an injury and was replaced by Noor Hakeem Hamidun. A defensive error by the visitors in the 35th minute almost allowed Celestine Enzo Nicolas Jacques to double Penang FC's lead, but his effort was saved by Amin Faisal.

However, Penang FC's defensive lapse was punished in first-half injury time when Musa Philip Dandada's through ball found an unmarked Muhammad Mazwan Che Mat, who calmly finished the chance to level the score at 1-1.

After the break, Gayoso missed a golden opportunity to restore Penang FC's lead in the 48th minute when his shot from in front of goal, following a pass from Celestine, sailed over the bar. Celestine restored the home side's lead in the 52nd minute, converting Daniel Asyraf's pass with a shot that beat Amin Faisal to put Penang FC 2-1 ahead.

The Wan Rohaimi Wan Ismail-coached side almost added another goal eight minutes later through substitute Mohamad Khala'if Mohd Naskam, but his effort struck the post. KRW FC then fought back to level the score in the 62nd minute when Emmanuel converted a free-kick that Noor Hakeem failed to keep out, making it 2-2.

Both teams continued to press forward and created several chances before Stefano became Penang FC's saviour, heading home the winning goal in the dying minutes to secure a 3-2 victory for the hosts.
