WASHINGTON—Following a highly anticipated presidential debate on Tuesday, early polling data suggest that Vice President Kamala Harris outperformed her Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump. Multiple polls have highlighted Harris's lead in the immediate aftermath of the debate.

According to the Philippines News Agency, a joint poll by SoCal Strategies, On Point Politics, and Red Eagle Politics reported that 53 percent of respondents favored Harris over Trump, who garnered 34 percent. Similarly, a YouGov survey found Harris leading with 54 percent compared to Trump's 31 percent.

Further insights came from The Washington Post, which conducted real-time surveys among undecided and swing-state voters. The results indicated a general consensus that Harris had a stronger performance, regardless of the voters' preferences for the November elections. Out of the group, 23 participants believed Harris excelled in the debate, while only two favored Trump. Among the 12 voters initially leaning towards Harris, five shifted from "probably" to "definitely" supporting her after the debate, with the rest continuing to lean in her favor.

These early findings underscore a potentially significant shift in voter sentiment following the debate, setting the stage for what may be a tightly contested race as November approaches.
