CEBU—Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced the launch of a new flight route between Cebu and Osaka, set to commence on December 22, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand its international service offerings.

According to the Philippines News Agency, PAL will operate three weekly flights from Mactan-Cebu International Airport to Osaka every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. Flight PR 410 is scheduled to depart Cebu at 11:45 a.m. and arrive in Osaka at 5:00 p.m., while the return flight, PR 409, will leave Osaka at 6:00 p.m. and arrive in Cebu at 9:40 p.m. Additionally, beginning February 26, 2025, the airline will introduce an extra weekly flight every Wednesday to accommodate growing travel demand.

PAL President Stanley Ng shared insights on the airline's strategic expansion, which includes not only the new Cebu-Osaka route but also potential direct flights between Paris and Manila. "There's a growing demand. People are traveling in Europe," Ng noted, highlighting the increased interest in travel to and from the region.

Earlier in April, Ng announced the revival of PAL’s Cebu-Osaka and Manila-Sapporo routes as part of a broader initiative to enhance the airline’s network connectivity. This expansion reflects PAL's commitment to providing more travel options and improving accessibility for passengers traveling between the Philippines and Japan. Currently, PAL and low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific operate several routes to Japan from Cebu, catering to the steady flow of tourists and business travelers between the two countries.
