Man in His 70s Dies After Self-Immolation in Support of Yoon

Seoul: A man in his 70s, believed to be a supporter of the impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol, has died following a self-immolation incident earlier this month, police reported. The 79-year-old, whose identity has not been disclosed, set himself on fire on March 7 after distributing leaflets expressing support for Yoon on the rooftop of a building near Seoul City Hall.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the man succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at a specialized burn hospital in Seoul around 1 p.m. His actions have been linked to his support for Yoon, marking a tragic end to his protest.

This incident represents the second occurrence of self-immolation involving a supporter of Yoon. Earlier, on January 15, another man in his 50s took similar action near the investigators' office in Gwacheon, when Yoon faced questioning over his mishandling of martial law imposition. That individual was also pronounced dead following the incident.
