Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a varied performance today with notable fluctuations in the closing prices of several key companies. Leading the upward movement, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries witnessed a significant rise, closing at 291,000, which marked an increase of 12,000. Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics saw its price climb to 58,800, up by 1,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies also experienced gains, including GC Corp which rose by 7,100 to reach 129,200. SAMSUNG SDI CO., LTD. closed at 193,600 with an increase of 5,100. SKC's shares advanced to 107,400, up by 4,500, while Hanwha Solutions ended the day at 19,910, marking an increase of 1,500.
Conversely, several companies faced declines. HYOSUNG HEAVY's shares fell by 6,500, closing at 422,000. LG Energy Solution saw a decrease of 6,500, ending at 328,000. KorZinc and Ottogi also experienced downturns, with their prices falling by 6,000 and 5,500 respectively.
In other movements, LS saw a decrease of 1,000, closing at 104,200, while GS Retail dropped by 270 to end at 13,990. Among the gainers, HD Hyundai Mipo showed a substantial increase by 8,500, closing at 113,900, and Hanmi Science decreased by 100, closing at 26,250.
Overall, the market exhibited a mixed trend with both gains and losses spread across various sectors.
