K-pop Group Zerobaseone Releases Fourth EP ‘Cinema Paradise’ with a Hopeful Message

SEOUL — K-pop sensation Zerobaseone launched its fourth extended play (EP), "Cinema Paradise," on Monday, continuing its streak of upbeat releases with a fresh message of hope and resilience. The nine-member group, which gained fame through intense competition, aims to inspire listeners with themes of perseverance and positivity.

According to Yonhap News Agency, "Cinema Paradise" offers a mix of seven tracks that resonate with different cinematic genres, reflecting a broad and engaging musical experience. Group member Kim Ji-woong emphasized that despite the adversities depicted in the songs, the overarching message is one of an assured happy ending, aligning with the band's signature vibrant energy.

The lead single from the EP, "Good So Bad," is an electronic synth-pop song that explores unreciprocated love, maintaining an upbeat tone throughout. Zhang Hao, another group member, described the track as a blend of genuine emotions and Zerobaseone's distinctive "hyper-positive romantic comedy" style, which turns even sorrowful tales into stories with happy conclusions.

The involvement of renowned K-pop songwriter Kenzie, who has penned hits for several top SM Entertainment artists, marks a significant collaboration on this album. Member Sung Han-bin shared insights into the creative process, highlighting the motivational impact of Kenzie's guidance during recording sessions.

Besides the lead track, the album includes songs like "Kill the Romeo," a remake of the 1997 hit "The Sea" by UP, and the Korean version of their Japanese debut single "Yura Yura." Reflecting on their first year since debut, the group credits enhanced teamwork and chemistry among members as key factors in their artistic development.

In conclusion of their album launch event, Zerobaseone expressed gratitude towards their fans, known as Zerose, and committed to continuous growth in their music career, driven by a resolve to stay true to their beginnings and the support of their audience.
