Seoul: Combined vehicle sales of leading South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Co. and its sister Kia Corp. in Europe fell 7.4 percent from a year earlier in February, industry data showed Tuesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, data from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) revealed that Hyundai and Kia sold a combined 73,294 units in Europe last month. ACEA data indicated that Hyundai Motor's sales decreased by 7.2 percent year-on-year to 37,210 units, while Kia's sales dropped 7.7 percent to 36,084 units.

The South Korean automakers reported combined sales of 156,526 units in Europe during the January-February period, marking a 5.5 percent decrease from the same period last year. The combined market share of Hyundai and Kia in Europe during the first two months of the year was recorded at 8 percent, a decline of 0.3 percentage point from last year.
