Calapan City: The Calapan City District Jail (CCDJ) participated in a bloodletting activity organized by the Holy Infant Academy, Inc., under the theme ‘A Simple Act, A Life Saving Impact’. Acting CCDJ Warden, Chief Inspector Randie Abril, stated that the event is part of a broader initiative to boost the local blood supply and motivate residents to contribute through blood donation.
According to Philippines News Agency, Abril emphasized the importance of the event, highlighting the CCDJ’s commitment to regularly engaging in blood donation efforts. He noted that donating blood plays a critical role in assisting accident victims, surgical patients, and individuals with chronic conditions. The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-CCDJ has been actively involved in such drives for several years.
The event not only aimed at replenishing blood supplies in local hospitals but also provided free health screenings, snacks, and certificates of appreciation for donors. Jail Officer 2 Christian Robiso, CCDJ Community Relations Service Unit chief, underscored the safety and ease of blood donation, urging the public to recognize its potential to make a significant difference in times of crisis or emergency.
The participation of the CCDJ in this bloodletting activity aligns with its initiative, Project CCDJ: Caring Thru Charitable Deeds of Jail Officers, supported by BJMP-Mimaropa Regional Director, Senior Supt. Clarence Mayangao.
