Unity Government Urged to Prioritize Stability Over Political Differences

Kuala lumpur: Parties in the Unity Government must find common ground and prioritize the stability of the country's administration over highlighting political differences, said the Prime Minister's Political Secretary Datuk Azman Abidin.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azman emphasized that politics is dynamic and relations between parties can change at any time. However, the current focus should be on nation-building and ensuring the government fulfills its responsibilities to the people. He remarked, "It is better to find our common ground than to focus on our differences because politics is very dynamic. We may be friends today and opponents tomorrow."

Azman further stressed the importance of respecting the people's mandate and serving out the term given to them. He told reporters, "So, for me, we must respect the people's mandate. If we are given one term, we should serve out that term."

The government's priority, according to Azman, is to focus on administering the country effectively and using the remainder of its term for the benefit of the people. "There is still a lot of work to be done," he noted, highlighting the various economic challenges that may arise and the Prime Minister's intention to address those issues.

Azman added that government stability is crucial for the country's development agenda and attracting more investment opportunities, which will ultimately benefit the populace. He also commented on the preparations for the Melaka state election, stating that Pakatan Harapan (PH) is always ready to face any competition and is prepared to contest the election independently or with any coalition. However, he reiterated that the priority should be fulfilling the government's responsibilities to the people.
