Samsung Electronics Appoints Mauro Porcini as New Chief Designer

Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. announced the appointment of Mauro Porcini as its president and chief design officer (CDO). Porcini, who previously held design roles at PepsiCo Inc. and 3M Co., is expected to bring his extensive expertise to Samsung, enhancing its user-centered approach to design innovation.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Porcini will lead Samsung's global design team, overseeing the design of mobile devices, TVs, and home appliances. This role will also involve shaping the company's user experience strategies. Notably, Porcini is the first foreign CDO at the South Korean company, highlighting Samsung's commitment to global perspectives in design.

Samsung Electronics operates seven global design labs in major cities such as Seoul, San Francisco, and Milan, which Porcini will now oversee. His leadership is anticipated to further strengthen Samsung's position in the global market through innovative and user-focused design strategies.
