Pope Francis Experiences Restful 10th Night in Hospital

Rome: Pope Francis had a restful 10th night in the hospital, as reported by the Holy See Press Office in a statement released on Monday morning. “The night went well; the Pope slept and is resting,” stated the official communication.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Pope is currently receiving treatment for double pneumonia at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital. His condition remains critical, but no respiratory crises have been reported since Saturday morning. The Holy See Press Office indicated on Sunday evening that although his condition is serious, his treatment is progressing.

Pope Francis has undergone blood transfusions to address low hemoglobin levels. Sunday’s press release highlighted that while thrombocytopenia remains stable, some blood tests have shown early signs of mild renal insufficiency, which is being monitored. The Pope continues to receive high-flow oxygen therapy administered through nasal cannulas to support his breathing.

Earlier on Sunday, Pope Francis participated in a Mass held in his hospital apartment, attended by the medical staff responsible for his care.
