Bicol: More than 1,400 officers of the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) were promoted to the next higher rank on Thursday. During the ceremony at the PRO-5 Tagapagpatupad multi-purpose building, the newly promoted officers took their oaths and formally donned their new ranks witnessed by the PRO-5 command, their families, and officials from the National Police Commission (Napolcom).

According to Philippines News Agency, the promoted personnel included 14 majors, two captains, 34 lieutenants, 151 executive master sergeants, 195 chief master sergeants, 88 senior master sergeants, 454 master sergeants, 51 staff sergeants, and 418 corporals. PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon congratulated all promotees, emphasizing that their promotion in rank is both an honor and a greater responsibility.

Dizon addressed the officers, acknowledging their hard work, dedication, and commitment to service as the foundation for their promotion. He described the promotion as a recognition of the sacrifices and resilience of the officers, urging them to view it as a challenge to accomplish greater things.

The event is part of the 2024 Regular Promotion Program for second-level uniformed personnel, with the aim of recognizing and rewarding the dedication, hard work, and outstanding service of police officers in the region. The promotion also acknowledges their professional growth and unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and order in the Bicol region.
