Phitsanulok: Southeast Asian (SEA) Games medalists Ronald Oranza and Jermyn Prado are leading the 21-member Philippine team to the 44th Asian Road Cycling Championships and 31st Asian Junior Road Cycling Championships in Phitsanulok, a city north of Thailand. Oranza secured two bronze medals at the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games, while Prado clinched a gold medal at the 2019 edition held in the Philippines.

According to Philippines News Agency, the team includes junior riders Kent Steven Zambrano, Roy Benedict Plastina, Mary Gwennielle Francisco, and Jazmine Kaye Vinoya, who excelled in their respective events at the Batang Pinoy National Finals last December in Puerto Princesa City. This marks the first time PhilCycling, under the leadership of Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham 'Bambol' Tolentino, is sending cyclists from the Batang Pinoy, the national grassroots program for athletes 15 years old and below.

In the men's category, additional competitors include Joshua Pascual, Julius Tudtud, Junrey Navarra, Marcelo Felipe, Steven Nicolas Shane Tablizo, Andrei Dennis Deudor, Jude Gabriel Francisco, and Ruzel Agapito. In the women's category, the team comprises Phoebe Salazar, Maura Christine March de los Reyes, Maritoni Krog, Kim Syrel Bonilla, Angelica Mae Altamarino, Angela Joy Marie Bermejo, and Raven Joy Valdez.

The team arrived in Bangkok on Wednesday afternoon and traveled by land to Phitsanulok, where they will compete in team mixed relay, individual time trial, and road race events from Friday until February 17. The athletes are supported by coaches Reinhard Gorantes, Mark John Lexer Galedo, Virgilio Espiritu, Marita Lucas, and Joey de los Reyes, along with mechanics Reynaldo Navarro and Roderic Calla. Sunshine Joy Vallejos serves as the team director.
