Santos City: The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) announced the opening of its Digital Business Center (DBC) in General Santos City, aiming to offer a streamlined and queue-free experience for its members and pensioners.

According to Philippines News Agency, the new facility, launched on Tuesday, is equipped with tablets featuring the GSIS Mobile Touch App. This development allows more than 46,000 active members and 11,000 pensioners from General Santos, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, and Sarangani to conduct transactions without lining up, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays.

GSIS President and General Manager Arnulfo Veloso highlighted the transformation in service delivery, noting that members can now access their accounts and complete transactions using the tablets efficiently. Veloso emphasized that the DBC is designed to simplify and speed up services, providing a dedicated space for members to apply for loans, check balances, view records, and complete other transactions typically requiring counter service.

The center is staffed with trained GSIS personnel available on-site to guide members through the digital platform. The new facility is currently serving 334 government agencies in the region, enhancing accessibility and efficiency for GSIS members.

"This initiative reflects our commitment to reducing wait times and improving the member experience. We are making GSIS services more accessible - one touch at a time," Veloso stated during the inauguration. The GSIS Digital Business Center was inaugurated in the presence of Veloso, General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao, and Councilor Lourdes Casabuena.
