Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mixture of gains and losses, with several sectors experiencing notable fluctuations.
According to Yonhap News Agency, iM Financial Group closed at 8,890, marking an increase of 90 points, while emart witnessed a decrease, closing at 86,100, down by 300 points.
KOLMAR KOREA and HANJINKAL were among the gainers, closing at 73,000 and 80,400, with increases of 2,100 and 600 points, respectively. CHONGKUNDANG also experienced a rise, up by 1,000 points, closing at 77,800. Meanwhile, DENTIUM and DoubleUGames saw declines, closing at 73,300 and 52,700, down by 100 and 400 points, respectively.
Notably, Samsung Biologics faced a significant decline, closing at 1,038,000, down by 7,000 points. On the other hand, BGF Retail and SKCHEM closed at 105,900 and 36,250, gaining 2,600 and 1,050 points, respectively. HYOSUNG TNC experienced a drop, closing at 204,500, down by 2,500 points, while ISUSPECIALTYCHEMICAL saw an increase, closing at 42,700, up by 1,100 points.
In the technology sector, KRAFTON and HD HYUNDAI ELECTRIC witnessed declines, closing at 375,500 and 307,000, down by 1,500 and 3,500 points, respectively. Conversely, SK ie technology and DL E and C showed gains, closing at 22,050 and 40,150, with increases of 100 points each.
The financial sector saw positive trends with KBFinancialGroup and WooriFinancialGroup closing at 76,100 and 16,030, up by 900 and 160 points, respectively. KakaoBank and kakaopay also experienced slight gains, closing at 20,650 and 28,600, with increments of 100 and 50 points, respectively.
The mixed performances across various sectors indicate an uncertain yet dynamic market environment, with significant activity in both financial and retail sectors, as key players adjust to market demands and economic conditions.
