Hwang Optimistic on ICTSI PH Ladies Masters Campaign

Manila: South Korean rising star Hwang Yoon hopes to perform well in the ICTSI Worldwide Link Philippine Ladies Masters starting on Feb. 12 at The Country Club course in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The 23-year-old is determined to keep her form after winning the Indonesian Open three weeks ago in her pro debut.

According to Philippines News Agency, Hwang expressed her goal for the competition, emphasizing her desire to win and her strategy to play with confidence. During a practice session at the challenging TCC course over the weekend, she highlighted the importance of studying the course and understanding its characteristics, particularly focusing on tee shots and putting.

The 54-hole USD 200,000 tournament features 50 standouts each from the Korean LPGA (KLPGA) and the LPGA of Taiwan (TLPGA), along with the top 32 from the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT). Hwang also shared her excitement about being in the Philippines for the first time and her hope to create memorable experiences during the tournament.

Among the title contenders are 2021 KLPGA Rookie of the Year and two-time winner Song Ga-eun, former national standout Sohn Yebeen, 2024 Korean Dream Tour winner Park Ye-Ji, and US-based player Yoo Dagyeom. Other notable competitors include Japan’s Wakui Mayu and Aoi Mako, Taiwan’s Li-Ning Wang and Ching Huang, and several players from Thailand, including Chayanit Wangmahaporn and Saraporn Chamchoi.

Leading the Philippine campaign are Dottie Ardina, Pauline del Rosario, Princess Superal, Harmie Constantino, Daniella Uy, Yvon Bisera, and Korean-Filipina Tiffany Lee.
