Haze: Serian Records Very Unhealthy API Reading

Serian: Serian recorded a very unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 258, while eight other areas in Sarawak registered unhealthy readings as of 9 am today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal reported that the eight areas were Sri Aman with a reading of 197, followed by Samarahan at 195, and Kuching at 191. Other areas such as Bintulu, Sarikei, Samalaju, Mukah, and Sibu recorded API readings of 152, 151, 148, 118, and 108, respectively.

Across the nation, forty-four areas were reported to have moderate air quality, while fourteen areas enjoyed good readings. The API categorizes air quality with readings from zero to 50 as good, 51 to 100 as moderate, 101 to 200 as unhealthy, 201 to 300 as very unhealthy, and readings above 301 as hazardous.
