MANILA - According to information available, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has allocated PHP 230.057 billion to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the year 2025. This funding is part of the National Expenditure Program (NEP) aimed at bolstering support for the Philippines' most vulnerable groups.

According to Philippines News Agency, The DBM announced that the majority of the DSWD’s budget, PHP 205.502 billion, will support several key social services initiatives. These programs include the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, with PHP 114.185 billion allocated to assist Filipino families in need. Additionally, the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens will receive PHP 49.807 billion, and the Protective Services Program will be allotted PHP 35.186 billion. The Sustainable Livelihood Program and the Philippine Food Stamp Program are set to receive PHP 4.433 billion and PHP 1.890 billion, respectively.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman emphasized the government’s commitment under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration, stating that this budgetary allocation is not merely a financial measure but a pledge of sustained support to the Filipino people. She highlighted that every peso is aimed at providing a lifeline that fosters hope and a promising future, recognizing the dignity of every citizen and moving towards a more equitable society.
