New York: A Columbia University student from South Korea is facing deportation due to her participation in pro-Palestinian demonstrations, as reported by The New York Times. U.S. immigration officials have targeted the 21-year-old student, surnamed Chung, arguing that her presence in the country conflicts with the administration's foreign policy agenda to curb the spread of antisemitism. This move is part of U.S. President Donald Trump's broader strategy.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Chung has taken legal action against Trump and other high-ranking officials following attempts by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to arrest her. These officials visited multiple residences on March 13 and conducted searches of Chung's university housing as part of their efforts.

Chung has been involved in pro-Palestinian demonstrations since the previous year. However, her lawyer emphasized that she did not engage with reporters, negotiate on behalf of student demonstrators, or assume any leadership roles, as noted by the paper.
