‘Captain America’ Man Indicted for Trying to Storm Chinese Embassy

Seoul: The prosecution indicted a 40-something man earlier this week on charges of attempting to trespass into the Chinese Embassy and a police station in Seoul, prosecution officials said Wednesday. The individual, identified by his surname Ahn, gained media attention for his actions on February 14 when he attempted to enter the Chinese Embassy in central Seoul dressed as Captain America, a character from Marvel Comics.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Ahn is known to be a supporter of President Yoon Suk Yeol. His actions did not stop at the embassy incident. On the night of February 20, he reportedly broke the glass gate of the Seoul Namdaemun Police Station and attempted to force his way into the building around 11 p.m., demanding expedited questioning. During the encounter, Ahn is also accused of verbally abusing a police officer and presenting a fake U.S. military ID.

Ahn has been taken into custody, and the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office has referred him to trial as of Monday. The charges against him include attempted trespassing and damaging public property.
