Seoul: Acting President Han Duck-soo called on the nation Tuesday to respect the Constitutional Court's decision on suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment regardless of the outcome. Han issued the call during a meeting with public safety-related ministers and officials, as the court is expected to rule soon on whether to uphold or dismiss Yoon's impeachment over his brief imposition of martial law in December.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Acting President Han emphasized the importance of respecting the court's decision as a legal judgment made in line with democratic procedures. He stated that the ruling should serve as a starting point for societal unity, moving beyond division and confrontation. Han urged the public to express their opinions peacefully and within the legal framework, highlighting concerns about illegal and violent acts during rallies and protests related to the ruling.

The acting president assured that the government would prioritize protecting citizens' lives and safety, pledging to use all available police and administrative resources to maintain order. He warned that any challenges to law enforcement, such as facility destruction, violence, or arson, would be met with firm action, including detaining suspects immediately.
