282 Arrested in QCPD’s Intensified Anti-Crime Operations

Quezon City: An intensified anti-illegal drugs and anti-criminal operations from Feb. 9 to 15 resulted in the arrest of 282 persons facing various offenses in Quezon City.

According to Philippines News Agency, a statement from Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting Director Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. detailed the arrests, which included 134 wanted persons, 101 illegal gamblers, 41 drug suspects, and six individuals for possession of illegal firearms.

Buslig reported that over the period, a total of 27 anti-drug operations were carried out, leading to the arrest of 41 drug suspects and the confiscation of PHP580,244 worth of illegal drugs.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, 42 operations were conducted resulting in the arrest of 101 gamblers and the confiscation of PHP35,695 in bet money.

For the campaign against wanted persons, 71 other wanted persons (OWPs) and 63 most wanted persons (MWPs) were arrested. Buslig noted that the respective courts of origin have been notified of their arrests.
