ST ANDREWS, SCOTLAND — South Korean golfer Kim In-kyung announced her retirement from professional golf on Sunday, concluding her career with a final round at the AIG Women's Open held at the Old Course at St Andrews.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim, who has been a competitor on the LPGA Tour since 2007, ended her final round with a score of three-over 75, totaling 11-over 299 for the event and finishing 81st out of 82 golfers who made the cut. During her illustrious career, Kim captured seven LPGA titles, including a major victory at the 2017 Women's British Open, which has since been renamed the AIG Women's Open. This victory also marked her last win on the LPGA circuit.

Kim is perhaps best remembered for a dramatic moment at the 2012 Kraft Nabisco Championship, another major, where she missed a crucial one-foot par putt on the final hole. This miss led to a playoff, which she lost to fellow South Korean golfer Yoo Sun-young, marking a challenging period until her next tour win in October 2016.

The announcement of Kim's retirement marks the end of a significant chapter in her career, characterized by both high achievements and memorable challenges on the golf course.
