SEOUL - South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol is scheduled to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum summit in San Francisco next week. This visit was announced by his office on Wednesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, President Yoon and first lady Kim Keon Hee will depart for a three-day visit to San Francisco next Wednesday. During this visit, President Yoon will participate in the summit of the 21-member APEC forum and engage in bilateral meetings. Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Kim Tae-hyo announced the details during a press briefing.
Following the APEC summit, President Yoon will return to Seoul on November 18. He is then scheduled to depart on November 20 for a four-day state visit to London, accepting an invitation from King Charles III. This visit coincides with the 140th anniversary of relations between South Korea and the United Kingdom.
After London, President Yoon will travel to Paris on November 23 to make a final pitch for South Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan. He plans to meet delegates of the Bureau International des Expositions to seek their support before the November 28 vote that will decide the host city.
Additionally, the deputy national security adviser disclosed the dates for President Yoon's upcoming state visit to the Netherlands, set for December 12 and 13.
