SEOUL - MSCHF, a New York-based art collective renowned for its unconventional and satirical approach, is set to present its first-ever museum-scale exhibition in Seoul. The exhibition titled "Nothing is Sacred" will feature over 100 pieces that challenge traditional art categorizations and standards.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the announcement was made at a press conference two days before the opening of the show. Lukas Bentel, Chief Creative Officer at MSCHF, expressed his enthusiasm for reflecting on the group's diverse creative output over the past four and a half years. The collective is known for its audacious projects, such as creating Nike shoes with employee blood and dissecting a Damien Hirst painting to sell its individual spots.
MSCHF CEO Gabriel Whaley, speaking at the Daelim Museum in Seoul, highlighted the collective's excitement to be the museum's first exhibition post-pandemic. Whaley also remarked on the creative energy he perceives in Seoul, comparing it favorably to New York City.
The exhibition, a result of Daelim Museum's initiative to transform everyday life into art, promises to be a unique experience for art enthusiasts in Seoul.
