JAKARTA, Aug 25 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, met here yesterday, with business holders from the U.S., under the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council, with discussions focusing on promoting investment in the country, Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister, Retno Marsudi, who also joined the closed-door meeting, told the press afterwards that, the focal points of the meeting included healthcare, digital transformation and energy transition.
“Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Indonesia is the only country that they have visited so far. The representatives of the American companies usually visit us every year, but they did not visit during the pandemic,” Marsudi said.
The foreign minister also said that, President Widodo reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to creating a better investment climate and developing the downstream industries.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Investment Minister, Bahlil Lahadalia, said that, the president also promised that Indonesia would seek ways to make it easier for foreign investors to invest in the country, particularly in the project of the new capital city in Kalimantan.
