Bicol Local Executives Thank President Marcos for Patient Transport Vehicles

Manila: Local chief executives of towns and provinces in the Bicol Region expressed their gratitude to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for the distribution of patient transport vehicles (PTVs). A total of 64 local government units in the Bicol Region received a share of the 387 PTVs allocated across Luzon during the event at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

According to Philippines News Agency, Camalig Mayor Carlos Irwin Baldo Jr. highlighted the town's commitment to improving its disaster and medical response capabilities with the new PTVs. He expressed his appreciation, stating that the vehicles would significantly enhance the emergency and health response of LGU-Camalig, particularly in remote barangays. Mayor Baldo extended his gratitude to President Marcos and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Daraga, Albay Mayor Victor Perete also conveyed his thanks to the national government for the new PTV, acknowledging its importance in improving medical services for the community. He recognized the support of the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Daraga for authorizing and personally receiving the vehicle.

In Gigmoto, Catanduanes, Mayor Vicente Tayam mentioned that the new vehicle would improve service delivery in the area. Similarly, Catanduanes Governor Patrick Azanza noted that 12 ambulances were allocated to the province, which would assist in patient transportation to and from the island.

Albay Governor Noel Rosal expressed gratitude to the President for the vehicles, emphasizing their role in facilitating the transport of patients from remote areas to hospitals. He highlighted the significant impact of these vehicles in ensuring that patients can access necessary medical care.

The turnover was part of PCSO's medical transport vehicle donation program, designed to support the health systems of local government units, particularly those in far-flung areas.
