Jeddah: The Muslim World League extends its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Republic of Indonesia, its government and people, and to the families of the victims and those injured, as a result of the earthquakes that struck a number of regions in the country.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, in a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the League, His Excellency the Secretary-General, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, expressed the League's solidarity and sympathy with the families of the victims and the entire Indonesian people in this painful incident. The statement emphasized that the League will dedicate all its capabilities to help alleviate the effects of the disaster, asking God Almighty to have mercy on the deceased and to grant the injured a speedy recovery.
