SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir– Two militants were killed in a gunfight, at a village in the Indian-controlled Kashmir, yesterday, a police official said.
The police official said, “Two militants were killed today (yesterday), in a fierce gunfight at Chowgam,” a village in Shopian district, about 52 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
“The gunfight was triggered early today, after joint contingents of police, army and paramilitary cordoned off the area last night, on specific intelligence information suggesting the presence of the militants,” said the official.
The government forces suffered no casualties in the exchange of fire, said the police official.
