SINGAPORE– Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 133 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total tally in the country to 63,924.
The new infections included 130 locally transmitted cases, of which 78 were linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster, and six belonged to the KTV cluster.
Of the new local cases, 64 were linked to previous cases and have already been placed on quarantine, while 37 were linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance. Twenty-nine were currently unlinked.
There were three imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN), or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. One was detected upon arrival in Singapore, while two developed the illness during SHN or isolation.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community increased from 178 cases in the week before to 961 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 18 cases in the week before to 97 cases, now,
A total of 447 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation. There are currently 11 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and two in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).
As of Thursday, Singapore had administered a total of 6,978,317 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, under the national vaccination programme, covering 4,201,110 individuals.
