Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Second Minister for Education Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman had video calls with Riau Islands (KEPRI) province Governor Ansar Ahmad and Batam Mayor Muhammad Rudi respectively on 27 July 2021.
During the video calls, Minister Maliki reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between Singapore and KEPRI, and conveyed an assistance package from the Singapore Government to support KEPRI’s efforts to combat COVID-19. The assistance package comprises medical supplies and equipment including 250 oxygen cylinders, medication, Antigen Rapid Test kits, as well as personal protective equipment such as N95 masks, surgical masks and medical gloves. The assistance package will be dispatched from Singapore to Batu Ampar port in Batam in the coming days.
As a close friend and key partner of KEPRI, Singapore will continue to work closely with KEPRI in our shared fight against COVID-19.
