Rose’s ‘APT.’ Achieves Historic Milestone on Billboard Hot 100 for K-Pop Female Artists.

Seoul: Girl group BLACKPINK’s Rose has made history by reaching No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 with her latest single, “APT.,” which features Bruno Mars. This achievement marks a new record for the highest-ranking song by a K-pop female artist on the chart.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Billboard announced on social platform X that “APT.” had successfully entered the top 10 on this week’s chart. The single joins other notable tracks such as Billie Eilish’s “Birds Of A Feather” at No. 3 and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” at No. 5. Previously, the highest-charting song by a K-pop female artist was BLACKPINK’s 2020 collaboration with Selena Gomez, “Ice Cream,” which peaked at No. 13.

Among songs by K-pop female soloists, BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s “One Of The Girls,” featuring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, was the previous highest-charting track at No. 51. This song, part of the HBO series “The Idol” soundtrack, marked Jennie’s acting debut. Rose’s own 2021 single “On The Ground” and her bandmate Lisa’s 202
4 single “Rockstar” both reached No. 70.

With “APT.,” Rose has surpassed her previous Hot 100 record, becoming the fifth K-pop artist to enter the top 10 on the esteemed music chart, following in the footsteps of BTS, Jimin, Jungkook, and Psy. The Hot 100 ranks the week’s most popular songs in the United States, based on streaming, radio airplay, and sales data.

“APT.” accumulated 25 million official streams, 32 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 14,000 units sold in the U.S. during the week of October 18-24. The song also performed well globally, topping the Billboard Global 200 and securing the third position on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. It debuted at No. 4 on the British Official Singles Top 100 chart.

In response to the news, Rose expressed her excitement on Instagram, saying, “Oh my gosh, what is happening? This is crazy. Thank you so much Number Ones, Blinks, everyone. This one’s for u. This is my dream come true,” referring to her fandom and her band’s fans. Bruno Mars als
