SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique - The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is intensifying its outreach efforts in Antique, focusing on expanding registration for the Konsultasyong Sulit Tama (Konsulta) program. Junie Sabusap, head of PhilHealth Antique, announced Thursday that the agency has begun revisiting the province's 18 municipalities following a successful registration campaign in March, which enrolled 6,600 members.
According to Philippines News Agency, the current initiative targets barangays, particularly those in remote areas, as part of the Assisted Batch Registration (ABR) drive. The ABR initiative, which began in August, is being conducted in partnership with local government units (LGUs) in seven towns—Tobias Fornier, Belison, Hamtic, Libertad, San Jose de Buenavista, Valderrama, and Sibalom. To date, 1,655 members have been registered, with a target of 3,570 members.
PhilHealth Antique’s team, together with personnel from Rural Health Units (RHUs) and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), are not only registering members but also providing a first patient encounter. This initial consultation includes access to medicines and select laboratory services as part of the Konsulta program's outpatient benefits, which are mandated by the Universal Health Care Law.
Additionally, all RHUs in Antique’s 18 towns and nine government-owned hospitals are accredited to provide Konsulta services.
