OFFICIAL VISIT OF HONOURABLE DATO’ SAIFUDDIN ABDULLAH MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF MALAYSIA TO THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA 17 – 20 OCTOBER 2021

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Honourable Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah will undertake an Official Visit to Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia from 17 to 20 October 2021, the first since his reappointment on 30 August 2021. The Honourable Minister will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Honourable Minister is scheduled to call on H.E. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia. The call will be preceded by a meeting with H.E. Retno L.P. Marsudi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Honourable Minister is also scheduled to meet H.E. Dato’ Paduka Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN, and have a session with the Committee of Permanent Representatives of ASEAN. His other programmes include the interactive forums with the Universitas Paramadina and the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), meeting with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and a session with Malaysian students and diaspora in Jakarta.

The Honourable Minister’s visit reflects the close and comprehensive ties between the two immediate neighbours. It will afford the opportunity for the two sides to explore joint initiatives in post-pandemic recovery efforts, as well as in addressing regional and international challenges.

The visit will be held in full compliance with the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) put in place by the authorities of both countries.
