Malaysia Reported 2,445 New COVID-19 Infections, Two New Deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia reported 2,445 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the national total to 4,837,005, according to the health ministry.

 

There are two new imported cases, with 2,443 cases being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

 

Another two deaths have been reported, pushing the death toll to 36,365.

 

The ministry reported 1,613 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,775,927.

 

There are 24,713 active cases, with 41 being held in intensive care and 22 of those in need of assisted breathing.

 

The country reported 1,637 vaccine doses administered yesterday and 86.1 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 84.2 percent are fully vaccinated and 49.7 percent have received the first booster, while 1.5 percent have received the second booster.
