Zambales: A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Zambales at 5:32 p.m. on Saturday. The earthquake was also felt in the nearby provinces of Bulacan, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and Pangasinan.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the epicenter of the tectonic earthquake was in Botolan town, with a depth of 102 kilometers. Intensity III was recorded in Botolan and Cabangan, while Intensity II was noted in the National Capital Region cities of Manila and Marikina.
The Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office documented Intensity I in Lingayen town. Phivolcs has indicated that aftershocks are expected following the quake.
