Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index reflected varied movements at its latest closing, with significant gains recorded in the biologics and IT sectors. Samsung Biologics emerged as a standout performer, witnessing a rise of 6,000 to close at 946,000. Meanwhile, the gaming giant KRAFTON also saw a substantial increase, climbing by 11,500 to end at 346,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, financial and industrial sectors experienced mixed outcomes. Meritz Financial dropped by 1,200 to settle at 104,600, while BNK Financial Group and DGB Financial Group faced declines of 60 and 40, respectively. Conversely, HanmiPharm maintained its position at 283,000 without any change.
The report also highlighted notable advancements in the retail and technology sectors. emart rose by 100 to 62,800, and KakaoBank increased by 300 to reach 21,750. KakaoPay similarly saw an uptick, closing up by 200 at 27,300. ECOPRO MAT made a significant leap, up by 2,700 to 68,800, and SK ie technology saw a rise of 1,550, finishing at 25,150.
On the downside, HD Hyundai and HD Hyundai Electric registered losses, dropping by 2,300 and 4,000, respectively. Hanwha Industrial Solutions decreased by 1,150, ending at 31,900. Despite these declines, other companies such as HYBE and SKBS posted gains of 2,500 and 1,450, respectively, indicating a positive trend in their market performance.
