Dagupan—Gina de Venecia, former congresswoman and spouse of ex-House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., is aiming to reclaim her role as the representative for Pangasinan's fourth district, following her son’s tenure.

According to Philippines News Agency, the candidacy for Gina de Venecia was formalized when her son, current Pangasinan 4th District Rep. Christopher de Venecia, filed her certificate of candidacy at the Commission on Election office this Sunday. Gina de Venecia, 75, has expressed her commitment to enhancing livelihood opportunities as a cornerstone of her platform, aiming to support generations from Gen Zs to millennials and their parents.

Her campaign is set to focus on empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises along with advancing health, education, values formation, and environmental protection. As of now, there appears to be no other candidates challenging de Venecia for the district seat, setting the stage for her unopposed return to the political arena.
