Prime Minister Hun Manet, the eldest son of longtime leader Hun Sen, has taken office vowing to promote good governance and turn Cambodia into a high-income country by 2050. Critics say Hun Manet will be thwarted by the corruption, nepotism and authoritarianism that are the legacy of his father. Hun Sen will remain a power behind a Hun Manet cabinet packed with the offspring and relatives of retiring officials who created the system.
