Eight Injured In Southern Philippine Grenade Attack

MANILA, At least eight people were injured, one critically, yesterday, after an attacker threw a grenade at spectators, in Maguindanao province, in the southern Philippines, a military spokesman said.

 

Army Lt. Col. John Paul Baldomar said, the attack occurred at around 3:30 p.m. local time, inside the Datu Piang town’s indoor sports court. The victims were spectators of a volleyball game, he added.

 

The spokesman said, an investigation is underway to determine the motive for the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
