The more plants we have, the more people will benefit in terms of livelihood," he stated in the vernacular.

The local government has also partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to provide skills training, focusing on processing from raw materials to finished products. This collaboration aims to scale up production to meet international standards. Mayor Belleza emphasized that with DTI's support, the town could produce at least 1,000 mats and baskets upon order.

Looking ahead to 2025, the mayor revealed plans to allocate a specific budget for karagumoy production. The municipal agriculture office will play a crucial role in maintaining updated data on farmers engaged in this sector, ensuring the sustainability and growth of this traditional craft.
