Los Angeles: Netflix’s Korean original series “Squid Game” Season 2 has been awarded the Best Foreign Language Series at the 30th annual Critics Choice Awards, as reported on its website Sunday. The honor marks a consecutive win for the series, following its initial triumph in 2022 for its first season.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Critics Choice Association announced the winner in Los Angeles on Friday, local time. The series’ leading actor, Lee Jung-jae, had previously won the Best Actor in a Drama Series award in 2022. In the second season, the narrative continues with protagonist Gi-hun, portrayed by Lee Jung-jae, who chooses to remain in Korea with the aim of ending the deadly games, rather than pursuing his initial plan to travel to the United States after his victory.
The current season ends with a cliffhanger, paving the way for the continuation of “Squid Game” in its upcoming third season, which is scheduled for release later this year.
