Seoul’s annual spring festival, Seoul Festa, to kick off next week


Seoul Festa, an annual spring festival organized by the Seoul city government, will kick off next week for a three-day run, allowing participants to enjoy the city’s allure, cuisine and vibe, city officials said Monday.

Seoul Festa 2024 will take place at Seoul Plaza, Gwanghwamun Square and other locations in central Seoul from May 1 to May 6 with the theme, “Enjoy All That Seoul,” featuring a variety of cultural, fashion, food and other entertainment events, the officials said.

From May 1 to May 3, Seoul Plaza will host a party zone featuring the opening party on the first day, along with cultural events, performances and a dance event called “K-Star Challenge” on the following two days.

Meanwhile, Gwanghwamun Square will host “Seoul Style Road” through May 1 to May 6, a program consisting of six zones featuring experimental offerings showcasing the city’s culture, fashion and beauty.

On May 4, “Seoul Road Show” will transform Sejong-daero, a street running along Gwanghwamun Square, into a massive stage
, offering performances and other experimental activities.

As part of the festival, a barbecue picnic event will also be held in Noeul Park in Seoul’s western district of Sangam from May 4 to May 5, along with several other events across the city.

“Seoul Festa, a representative springtime festival, is a golden opportunity to experience Seoul’s culture and allure at a single place,” a city official said.
