President Marcos Jr. Appoints New General Manager and Board Members to Philippine Reclamation Authority

Manila – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed new leadership to the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA).

According to Philippines News Agency, Cesar Siador Jr. has been named the new general manager and chief executive officer of the PRA. The announcement was made through the office’s official Facebook page late Friday night. Siador Jr., who previously served as the regional director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Environmental Management Bureau, will also join the PRA’s Board of Directors.

In addition to Siador Jr., President Marcos Jr. appointed Alexander Lopez and Anthony Peter Crisologo as board members of the PRA. The appointments signify a new direction for the state-run reclamation agency, which plays a critical role in the country’s infrastructure and development projects. The PRA, initially established as the Public Estates Authority under Presidential Decree 1084 issued on February 4, 1977, functions as the clearinghouse for all reclamation projects in the Philippines. Its responsibilities include integrating, coordinating, and directing reclamation projects on behalf of the national government. The agency also holds the power to develop and dispose of public lands, enter into contracts and loan agreements with private, public, or foreign entities, and exercise the right to eminent domain in the name of the Republic of the Philippines.
