PH EMBASSY INAUGURATES MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING IN RIYADH

RIYADH– Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Adnan V. Alonto, successfully led the inauguration of the Multipurpose Building at Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh on 10 June 2022.

The Multipurpose Building was constructed to provide a suitable venue to better serve the more than 850,000 Filipinos living in Saudi Arabia.

“With the completion of this new building, we now become one of the largest Philippine Foreign Service posts in the world in terms of physical size and number of staff. This development should enhance the Filipino experience here in the country and highlight the importance of our friendship and partnership with Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East region”, said Ambassador Alonto in his opening remarks,

During the program, a video message of President Rodrigo R. Duterte was played to share his congratulatory message to the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh on the inauguration of the Multipurpose Building. The President underscored how the landmark development reflects the government’s top priority, which is to protect and promote the rights and welfare of the overseas Filipinos in the Kingdom.

As part of the inauguration ceremony, plaques of recognition were presented to the Saudi-based Filipino professionals who volunteered in designing and planning the construction of the Multipurpose Building. The project was supervised by the Embassy through the Saudi Consulting Services Company for Engineering Constructions (SaudConsult) and constructed by First Gulf Company.

The event was attended by ambassadors and other members of the diplomatic corps, and invited representatives of the Philippine and Saudi governments and the media, among others.
