Taguig city: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Tuesday broke ground for the construction of a hospital and a first responder and nursing service facility in Taguig City.
According to Philippines News Agency, the PCG stated that the construction of the PCG General Hospital aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s commitment to enhancing the welfare, readiness, and overall well-being of uniformed personnel. The PCG emphasized that these infrastructure projects aim to provide accessible, high-quality medical care with modern medical facilities equipped to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to PCG personnel, their families, and civilians, particularly during emergencies and disasters.
The groundbreaking ceremony was led by PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, and Taguig City Councilor Darwin Icay at ML Quezon Boulevard, New Lower Bicutan, in Taguig. During the event, the PCG Medical Service expressed gratitude to Gavan and other project partners for their support, highlighting the significance of this development as a testament to the PCG’s ongoing growth and development. It was noted that the initiative would ensure that every Coastguardian remains strong in service and safe in health.
The project received backing from various PCG units, including the PCG Dental Service, PCG Nursing Service, PCG Infrastructure Development Service, and other partner agencies.
