OTS Summit held in Ankara

An extraordinary meeting of the Summit of the Heads of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries took place in Ankara on Thursday.

Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, opening the event, drew the attention of the meeting participants to the consequences of the devastating earthquakes that occurred in Turkiye in February this year.

He expressed gratitude to the leaders of the Turkic states for the support and assistance provided to Turkiye in this difficult time.

The meeting continued under the chairmanship of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

In his speech, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov stressed that the Kyrgyz people share the grief of their Turkish brothers, who are experiencing the severe consequences of the disaster. Kyrgyzstan once again confirms that it is ready to support and assist in all efforts of the Turkish government to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake at such a difficult time.

The head of Kyrgyzstan also stressed that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to regular high-level meetings between the member states of the Organization. The high level of political dialogue between the participating countries is maintained.

The Summit was attended by the heads of the member states of the Organization – Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, TurkiyeRecep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as leaders of countries and heads of delegations of observer states.

As a result of the extraordinary meeting of the Heads of the countries participating in the OTS, a final declaration and other documents were signed.
