Jakarta: The Indonesian government is developing several schemes for the construction of a giant sea wall project, intended to attract foreign investors, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, announced yesterday. As one of the government’s national strategic projects, the massive sea wall is planned to stretch along the northern coast of Java Island, extending from Jakarta to Gresik in East Java.
According to Nam News Network, the government is currently in the process of finalizing the design for the ambitious project. Yudhoyono, speaking from his office in Jakarta, emphasized the importance of offering a well-planned design, which he believes will result in increased land values and opportunities for commercialization. The sea wall project is seen as a crucial development in protecting the region from potential flooding while simultaneously boosting economic growth through enhanced infrastructure.
