Negros island: The Department of Health – Negros Island Region (DOH-NIR) is set to hire 432 health personnel for deployment in 2026. These personnel will be assigned to various local health offices and units throughout the region, covering the provinces of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
According to Philippines News Agency, the recruitment drive seeks to fill positions including 245 nurses, 152 midwives, 15 medical technologists, eight nutritionist-dieticians, six pharmacists, three physical therapists, and three dentists. This initiative is part of the National Health Workforce Support System for the year 2026.
In an advisory dated October 21, Regional Director Razel Nikka Hao highlighted that the DOH-NIR, as a newly established implementing agency with its own General Appropriations Act allocation, will be responsible for the recruitment and hiring process. This process is part of the preparation for the Civil Service Commission program aimed at institutionalizing meritocracy and excellence in human resource management accreditation.
Hao emphasized that this recruitment effort is designed to ensure adherence to the human resource merit promotion and selection board procedures. This will involve uniform, transparent, and merit-based mechanisms at all stages of the recruitment and appointment process.
